bmibaby check-in closes 30 min before the flight, so allow longer than half an hour.Posts are not advice and must not be relied upon.0

I was running late admittedly and wouldn't advise doing it, but if it was Easyjet, I would have had no chance...0

I think that it's the best of the budget airlines.
Last time back into BHX with bmibaby we didn't get a jetty parking and there was congestion with the busses. And the baggage took an HOUR to arrive at the carousel!
I would certainly not put them as the best of the budget carriers. Nor does the airlinequality website referred to above. In fact, it rates them on a par with Ryanair!!!!!
They are good with kids though, although I have found the return trips from Spain may not be as well organised as the outward ones.0 -
with bMIbaby you can select your seats online when you book and you mught get priority boarding. If there's a Boots in the airport get yourselves meal deals, at £2.99 they're much better value that onboard sandwiches.0

No Joke
I am quoting the pilot who said that due to an administrative error no co-pilot had been arranged, that no second officer was available and that we would be flying with two pilots just as soon as he arrived.
Filled me with loads of confidence I can Tell you0 -

Hmm, reminds me of TK Maxx, where they go on the tannoy and say "Can Stacey return to your register, please"!0 -
weve flown 3 times with BMI to Malaga, first time when our youngest was 6 months old and last time he was 22 months old
agree with whats been said in previous replies, def bring your own snacks etc and yes you deffo can have buggy til last minute
twice everything was 100% but the 2nd time we used BMI were kept waiting on the runway for our return home due to something failing with the water tank or something
no one was allowed to get out of seats or use the toilet !! (baring in mind quite a lot of children on that flight !) it was sweltering hot ,but they did come round with free botles of water (after loads of us had already paid for some !)
were delayed by 1.5 hrs if i remember correctly which is a long time when just sitting there in the boiling hotness (is that a word?!)of an aircraft !
but apart from that lol cant complain
you get what you pay for
dont get many bargains like you used to though
we used to fly for £1 each way then !!0 -
monkeyspanner wrote:All of above on our recent flight to Prague:
On the plus side-allocated seats on check in so no rush to the plane, and cheap.
On the negative side- Delayed both ways. On the way out they had forgotten they needed a co-pilot so we had to wait an hour on the tarmac. On the way back inbound flight delayed. No anoucements in Czech so as soon as we landed one guy stood up opened an overhead locker and started making a mobile call, no intervention by the stewards. Steward dropped contents of overhead locker on me whilst laughing did get an apology but it was v.halfhearted. All in all a pretty typical budget flight experience.
I fly frequently to Prague and usually use Czech Airlines. However, recently I was seduced by a very cheap flight on BMI Baby and used them. I was delayed both ways. The pilot actually said it was due to the lateness of an incoming flight from Spain. This obviously happens every day. They do not allow enough time on the ground to turn the planes around.
Apart from this, the flight was OK. It got me from A and B in one piece. Got to say, the next two trips I have booked already are back with Czech Airlines.0
