    Hi,

I havent flown BMI Baby but I have been on a BMI flight with a 'tiny' fare .... that's supposedly the equivalent of a BMI Baby flight. LIke any no frills flight, expect it to be nice and simple. Food/drinks can be purchased on the plane (usually sandwiches etc) and they are pretty expensive. I suggest taking your own snacks and just buying hot drinks if you want them.

No in flight entertainment ... but as most no frills flights are only up to about 3 hours, the flight does go very quickly. I suggest sleeping, a newspaper or a book.

Not much else to say really .... you have to experience it for yourself. Some people hate it ... but I think its a simple case of getting what you pay for and for a short flight to Europe, I wouldnt do it any other way.

I've used BMI baby several times. Planes are quite small and there is no in-flight entertainment. The staff are friendly and much more casually dressed than on major airlines (BMIbaby sweatshirts and trousers). There are no in-flight meals as such, but you can buy snacks onboard - sandwiches, drinks, crisps, muffins, sweets etc. Quite expensive and worth taking your own food with you if you can manage it, or if not, buying something from the airport restaurants before you board. They also sell a range of toys/perfume/alcohol etc on board.

With little ones it will be important to take your own books/toys etc as there is not much going on for them and no room to run around.

But all my flights have been comfortable and clean and good value for money.

I flew BMIbaby to Malaga last November.

No frills, but pleasant enough. Very punctual. Had to buy drinks and a snack on-board, but took a newspaper and a magazine for the flight.
Of course, I may just be talking b****cks!

Flown BMI Baby several times, it's definately no frills but you pay a no frills price for the flight.

As others have said buy sandwiches and drinks before you board as the trolley service has pretty steep prices.

All of above on our recent flight to Prague:
On the plus side-allocated seats on check in so no rush to the plane, and cheap.
On the negative side- Delayed both ways. On the way out they had forgotten they needed a co-pilot so we had to wait an hour on the tarmac. On the way back inbound flight delayed. No anoucements in Czech so as soon as we landed one guy stood up opened an overhead locker and started making a mobile call, no intervention by the stewards. Steward dropped contents of overhead locker on me whilst laughing did get an apology but it was v.halfhearted. All in all a pretty typical budget flight experience.
  • I fly BMIbaby for business. Have never had a problem, delays happen with all airlines. I'm not worried about in-flight meals as I would never eat anything prepared by in-flight caterers...........their standards are not mine !

I used them once. On the outward flight there was a good selection of drinks and snacks, but they were very expensive.

On the return flight, they only had some manky looking cheese sandwiches left and the only hot drink was hot chocolate, which they ran out of part way up the plane.

As others have said, it's best to either take your own food and drink onboard with you, or have a meal before you fly so you won't need anything onboard.
Here I go again on my own....

I assume you mean that as a joke? You don't just forget you need a first officer!

They're a lot better than easyjet because they don't put 10 planes out of one airport in the space of half an hour. The planes are older than easyjet's though. The seat pitch is about the same - and tight. They seem to get better parking spaces at airports - with easy jet you nearly always end up on a bus.

Check in was 100x better than easy jet. There wasn't a queue with bmibaby, but easyjet had about 600 people crammed in and the staff were appalling - they basically refused to help us when we were stood in a queue and the person behind the desk disappeared. You would need to be there 2 hours before with them, but with bmibaby, I've arrived half an hour before the flight, no problem.

The onboard catering is expensive and I'd pop round to a supermarket before you fly.

I think that it's the best of the budget airlines.
