Hi, i have a slightly odd request. My favourite food from our chinese (believe it or not) is the chicken omlette off the english dishes. I have treid and tried to get my omlettes to taste how they make them, but i cannot. Is there anything in particular they do to make them taste different to 'normal omlettes'

You would be saving me hundreds of £££s if you could elaborate as i have one at least once a week!!!

    Thankyou so much! :):)

What you need to get that authentic taste is some 100 year old eggs !

Their is a nice Chinese Restaurant called Mr Kongs just off Leicester Square. They do a nice Mongolian Lamb.

After trying I had to try and make it. The Mongolian Lamb recipe on the bottom of page came out very well when I made it.

Crispy Mongolian Lamb, I've never tried that, it sounds delicious

the Mongolian Lamb I'm looking for is a stir fry with fresh chilli, spring onions & garlic served over a few deep-fried bean thread (I think) noodles

I've tried improvising & used some recipes from the 'net, but I've never got it quite right (usually far too salty) so I'm hoping Kwai has a recipe he's willing to share

Does anyone know of a Chinese Supermarket on the Surrey/Hampshire/Berkshire border? I live near Bracknell.
    Thanks!

Theres a seewoo supermarket in Reading, alternatively there is wing yip in Croydon.

The main chinese suermarkets/cash & carrys in London are Wing Yip, See Woo and Loon Fung. Vinegar for OS cleaning etc is very cheap here and you will usually find most oriental cooking ingredients. In New Malden, they have a large Korean Supermarket just off the A3. Its a sharp turn off the A3 at Shannons corner? (krispy Kreme exit) on the same industrial estate as the big yellow storage place.
    Sorry so off topic.

I will try to redeem myself by adding some of my family's recipes later on.

Sorry to all who are waiting on recipes that I haven't popped in for about a week. I've been busy planning on popping the question to the other half and since she said yes I've been non stop planning our rings and wedding lol! Give me another week and a half and I'll be back on here posting recipes for you to try at home :)

Keep the requests coming and feel free to help each other with ideas and recipes (thanks to those who already have)
