HSBC - Their error, time and time again but harrassing me.....
Comments

Very interesting.....Certainly worth bearing in mind.
As I said earlier, I would just be happy with an end to the calls at this stage. The loan will be paid off in full in three months anyway.
I am in quite a good mood this morning, but they have not started calling me yet..........0 -
I had an issue in FEB where my SO that is due out on the 30th of the month wasnt paid, for obvious reasons.
This made my payment schedule 1 month in arrears.
Could this have happened to you?
Nope.
Trust me, I have checked, rechecked and checked again.
Mine is due on the 1st anyway. Every month has one of those.
Nearly 2pm and no calls yet today... I had three yesterday and they were all silent so I assume that they are still going to call.....0 -
Well, I have had todays call.
The usual, except this time I am only one payment in arrears apparently.
Of course the very helpful (and apologetic) lady who called checked the account and saw the error, so has updated the system and "hopefully" it will not happen again (her words, not mine....)
I told her that I had been through this many times before, but she assured me that it would not happen again....
Thursday's notes on my file state that I was very "abusive" however she does not know why "John" did not check the account after our heated exchange and notice the error himself, instead it was set to recall me as the issue was not resolved (I had hung up on him)
I will be offering £10 to the poster who predicts nearest to the date and time of their next call. Apparently it is not usual practice to call on a Sunday so that is an outsider......0 -

If your username is accurate, do you feel it fair that your customers, whose money pays your wages, be treated in the same way?
If a retailer supplies goods that are not up to scratch then you expect a refund. HSBC's service is not up to scratch therefore I would like a refund of some of the interest I have already paid, applied to my O/S balance as a token of goodwill. Is that straightforward enough to comprehend or am I still a money grabber?
Although it is no doubt a computer error the attitude of some of their staff leaves a lot to be desired. I am sure you are aware of that though, BarclaysBoy. Your lot are even worse I hear.
Enjoy the long weekend, use it as a practice run for all the time off that you will have soon when you are made redundant.
Shocking from HSBC - I posted about Barclaycard under credit cards. Had to be taken to ombdusman and won complaint - now going for small compensation. Like you it isn't the 'money' per se but the hassle!
Good Luck.0 -
call telephone banking and lodg an official complaint.. this is not acceptable>> surely someone should be able to stop the calls if there is no outstanding balance or arrears>
Im shocked! and I work for them.......
I have called the complaints number & collections/customer credit in the past and got nowhere.
Best to put all the facts in writing now anyway.0 -
UPDATE
Well, blow me......
It has been 3 days now and no calls or letters....
I am quite frankly astonished. It appears that wahtever the nice lady I spoke on Saturday did has been more effective than the dozen or so colleagues before her, my telephone call and visit to the branch.
I still sent the complaint letter though.0 -
I was told recently that you can block any individual number from calling you via this process:
Make a note of the number then call the BT operator and request "choose to refuse". They will then give you a code which you can punch in the next time this number has called you and it will thereafter be blocked. I don't know if this works as I have not tried it but I received the tip from someone who was getting nuisance calls such as these from an insurance provider.0 -
Well, closure at last.
No more calls since my last post and today a letter arrived in response to my complaint.
Full apology, (apparently the projected end date was calculated at the time of the loan as the 1st of March and entered into the computer. Due to fluctuations in the interest rate.... blah, blah,blah..... there are still three months payments to go but the computer thinks that these are arrears)
£100 deducted from balance as gesture of goodwill, so I am happy with that.
Thanks for all the advice, especially Shelfstacker.0
