Hi there, could anyone please help me,
I have a difficult situation with some outstanding council tax debt, and wonder whether a DRO will be able to help.
I wondered whether it will mean that I have to give up my mobile phone and student bank account as it has a 1500 overdraft, which is currently maxed.
if anyone could help with these questions I would be very grateful. I need to stop the bailiffs from being able to access my home and am finding their attitudes very intimidating. Rossendales are very difficult to negotiate with. Has anyone else had problems with them?
Many Thanks xx RR xx0 -

Council tax arrears can be included in a DRO.

If you intend to include any of these in your DRO, then expect them both to cease. However if you are up to date with your mobile, and your monthly bill is within the trigger figures for a DRO, there is no reason you would have to give up your mobile.
Even if do not to include your overdraft in your DRO, you will have to declare it when applying.

I am sure I was told that a DRO is a cheaper form of Bankruptcy and will affect your credit rating for 6 years.. I went with a debt management order instead.0
