Hi folks

My mum wants a phone and asked my advice!!!! With regards to mobiles I am a little clueless though!!!! Anyhow she told me about the Samsung E770 she liked with T mobile for 35quid a month from the link. There is cashback available lowering the overall cost to 17.50 pm over 18 mths though I am dubious about ever getting this money back. [This seems to be an instore offer as I cannot find it on their website]

Any1 had any problems claiming cashback from The Link??? Is the phone any good?? Her Nokia seems to always run out of charge.

Any tips appreciated.

The E770 is one of the latest models OUT/to be RELEASED.....looks awesome....its on the back of the in-store T-Mobile brochure but carphonearehouse or phones4u or O2, or Vodafone magazine did not even have it mentioned....so its pretty difficult to get hold of.

The £35 quid deal is the T-Mobile FlexT tarriff.......Currently the cheapest place I have seen this is on https://www.carphonewarehouse.com as it is 16 months half price line rental through cash back redemption....it works out approx £19/month......But they do not even have the E770 listed as a stockable item!! If you bought direct from T-Mobile shop...you will get it at around £26/month as there offer is 25% off the normal £35 line rental.

    Hope the info helps.

    Hi

I have also been looking at this phone - looks fairly good with all the latest features. T-mobile seem to be doing some really good deals at the moment and teh fact that you are gettign cashback too is good!

Quick question for those of you that have had contracts before...I am looking to get a contract though t-mobile on Flext35 costing £26.25 a month, if i do not make any calls outside my allowance etc. will this be my monthly charge? or do they sneakily charge VAT on top?

    Thanks

Can ask why you want to spend an extra £7 more per month when you can get the same deal for £19/month (through cashback) from carphonewarehouse online or by calling there sales No.

Thats a saving of £126 over 18 months.

The only reason I can think of is that T-Mobile shop does the E770 (which im not sure they have it in stock yet or not) where as no other place at present does it (i think)...in which case...does the extra £126 justify the newer handset ?? Depends how badly you want the E770 i guess

I am considering the carphone warehouse deal also. I am still looking aroudn at teh moment trying to find the right/best deal. I really dont want to be spending anymore than £35 a month on my mobile bills and therefore why i was asking about VAT.

    Thanks

    Hi All,
Thanks for your advice, I will check out the carphone warehouse deals too on this phone. Kes16 you mentioned VAT on the monthly charge possibly being charged so I'll check that out. The monthly bill seems to include 500 mins calltime to anything (I think thats right!!).

    Anyhow must dash.....

P.S. I would really like to know if people have any problem getting cashback from carphonewarehouse or the link.

They're national chains. Even if its a little difficult to chase them you'll still get your money back. Its the small companies you got to worry about, they're the ones that are alive and kicking one minute and dead in the water the next.
