  • Hi chirp chirp , hope i have worked this out right

    (4999/100)x3= £149.97/365= 41p per day

    (5001/100)x4=£200.04/365= 55p per day

Ooh thank you so much - yes the way you have worked it out makes sense! Mind has totally gone today, so out of routine with all these snow days and lots of new children in my class!

I can't quite believe it, I've just added up how much I need to pay for dinner monies, after school club, music lessons, share of xmas presents and for a sports club that I didn't pay last term (owe ex!). It comes to over £800! I hate the first month of each term. It's not that it's not budgeted for it's just I don't like to go over the income I receive each month despite having over £300 savings from last month.
  • OMG chirp chirp that bill is massive!!. At DDs school the dinners have to be paid for on the monday of that week so its not such a shock to the system. Is it the norm where you are to pay by the term? I only have one child at school so far, bu i can imagine if you had a few at school it would be a serious drain on your finances as i constantly have to pay for dinners, breakfast club, snack money, dance classes........then to top it off you get a load of rafflet tickets home too!! You will be needing all you 55p's then..................:rotfl::rotfl:

Well dinner monies is £37.80 and £41.20 for my two - bit lower for one due to absences last term. After school club £99 each child until half term. Music fees, one instrument per child at roughly £88 ( can't find bill + band fees of £35). Shared xmas presents with ex, my share to pay is £238. Sports fees for last term, bill wasn't given to me, handed to ex who wrote the cheque for me to pay him back, £100 for the term. However this is a huge difference to the £76 a month I was paying for a different club.

Does anyone understand how the RPI works? I need to to know what the change in the RPI was between October 2008 and October 2009. I'd really appreciate any help on this.

    Try this

    http://www.statistics.gov.uk/STATBASE/tsdataset.asp?vlnk=229

    http://www.wolfbane.com/rpi.htm

The percentage increase in the RPI between Oct 2008 to Oct 2009 was 0.6% (google RPI UK October 2009)

Thank you. I used the National Stats office and found it had gone down by -0.8%. Not sure my legal time planned on deflation when setting maitenence!! Agreement only mentions increase not decrease in line with RPI:rolleyes: but hey ho we've chosen to keep it at the same this year but base next years possible increase on the deflation rate from this year
  • We have just seen something similar with our Leasehold costs coming through with an increase. I argued that the RPI had gone down ove rthe last 5 years so there should be no rise. However, if you look at the including everything RPI ( which is a number and not a percentage ) this is different. Worth checking which RPI you should be working off.
