I Honestly think you should let your Doc have a quick look , some Fucidin cream , might just do the job :)

    Fingers crossed :)

    Thanks hun
Will book an appointment and get them checked.

No not really it was more the pus that was bothering me as I knew they should have healed by now
They do smell a bit funny though but only noticed that the other night when OH mentioned a horrible smell and said it was coming from my ears :embarasse

Yes its sounds like an infection Cheeky . I know Im not supposed to give medical advice, but you could try an antiseptic cream ( savlon or sudocream ) Smells & pus are a sure indication of an infection .. and take your studs out , if its been a year the piercing wont heal over .

    :)

    I wouldn't try any cream bought over-the-counter.
If the pierced holes in my ears had pus coming out of them and they smelled, I'd be off to the doctors like a shot.

Most ear piercings heal in 6 - 8 weeks - I could swop my earrings within 4 weeks of having them pierced (at a reputable place).
I can't understand why you've left it so long to deal with the infection or why you didn't continue your complaint with this shop - especially as you said the girl at the till admittd that they'd not done a good job.

Your posts have a lots of  in - you'd have done better directing all that (IMHO totally justified) at Claire's as soon as you realised they'd messed your ears up.

I think you should go to the doctor, and when he/she diagnoses your ears, get a letter written up from the doctor that you can send to claires, and tell them all the problems and hassles and pain this has caused you. Send them a letter recorded and let us know what they say back to you.

thats really good advice from Hailz86 above
People who clearly are not trained properly should not be piercing ears for any ages.

Bad enough its happened to you and lets hope no one else has gone through this although from reading your exprience I would not be surprised if it had.

A very strong letter needs to be sent to Claires, possibly cc to trading standards as its really shocking what they have done.
Thankgod the mum with the little girl took her out of the shop.

Hope it all heals up for you soon

Sorry to be blunt - but after the horrible experience you had the first time why on earth did you go back to them to get your piercing fixed???

    Thanks for all the replies.
Tbh I was unsure of where I stood in all this and as it was a birthday present when I got them done my OH took me back for them to rectify it.
As far as the infection being this bad I didn't know this myself until OH pointed out the other night that it smelt as I have been cleaning them morning and night with tcp and I came on here for a bit of advice and get attacked for not going to a "reputable" place. As far I knew and was concerned they were a reputable business obviously I didn't think they would have let untrained staff do this.
I know I made a big mistake by going to Claire's and feel stupid enough about leaving it this long already but just need a bit of friendly advice of were I go from here.
As it was a birthday present I didn't want to hurt my OH's feeling by letting him know just how bad it had got. I am not going to justify myself any more than I already have.
Thanks for the advice about getting a letter from my doctor and sending a copy to trading standards it is greatly appreciated.
