Unlocking Sony Ericsson K500i?

Hi all,

I just recently purchased a SE K500i on Orange line rental. However I wanted to unlock the phone but it doesn't seem to work with the 'NokiaFreeCalculator' that I am trying it with.

For some reason when I enter the IMEI number and get the code back with which to unlock the phone, it doesn't allow me to enter the last 2 digits on the Sony Ericsson.
Could someone please give me any advice or if have any suggestions how else I maybe able to get the phone unlocked? Thanks

erm NOKIAfree program is only for nokia i believe however i have seen some programs that will unlock other phones. Unfortunately not sonyericsson. To unlock the sonyericsson phone you will have to go to a mobilephone shop who will attach a cable and unlock it or ring orange and ask for the unlock code.

i have sonyericsson p800 which needs a cable to unlock.
Problem with having access to internet is that i get asked by many to solve their problems :( Well at least i learn something on the way :D
  • Codes won't work.

It needs a cable and software.

Easiest thing would be to contact a local "specialist".
  • Oh right, I thought it may be possible to unlock with codes? Are there any sites that offer free unlock code software?

And can you really phone the network i.e orange and request the unlock code? Cheers

If you have only jst started the contract the Orange won't let you have a code to unlock it(if it can be), or if they do then it will cost agreat deal. Try https://www.unlockme.co.uk, however, I think you'll need a cable and software. Just ring a couple of you local independant mobile phone shops and you should quickly find one that will do it for £10-20. It'll save yourself so much time attempting to buy a cable and software! Plus it'll be cheaper!

I had to take my k700i to be unlocked as it required a cable unlock, you can buy the cable from a certain auction site and then buy a log from many differant sites and diy.
The more i save the more i can spend:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:
  • I had my F500i unlocked at a local mobile store....cost me 10 quid...better than buying a cable and software....:-)
