    If you don't want people doing unsavoury things on your computer then don't let them on it. Ownership is no waiver of privacy laws.

    Lock down the other user accounts, prevent access to messaging services, say you son't want them using it for anything suspect, or as anewhope says, don't let them on it...

    Hi,

    I know conversations gone a bit off the original topic and onto key loggers. If your still interested, the easiest thing to do would be to run a startup script for all users to add that registry setting for the current user.

    You'll need to export the key that you have that sets up the logging of chats from within Live Messenger and then reimport this on the other users profiles using a batch file called at logon.

    Open up notepad, type in the below and save it as a .BAT file. Providing the path to .REG file is complete and correct, it will silently add the registry entry to whoever logs on.

    @echo off
    echo Installing updates...
    regedit.exe /s <PATH_TO_REG_FILE>
    echo Finished install

    If you want it for all users save the file to <PATH TO>\Documents and Settings\All Users\Start Menu\Programs\Startup or if you know what your doing in the registy add it to the appopriate startup folder within HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run.

    That way when anyone logs on it will add the registry key and start logging (providing the registry key is correct and does its job)

    Will it still work for only two entries in the registry.
    I think I'll only need the two entries I've spotted that are different in my reg entry to theirs.

    Any posts are my opinion and only that. Please read at your own risk.

    Well you could install live/messenger plus as someone suggested it logs chats by default, if they query why u installed the program they just say u were told it was a good addon to have (which it is) it has lots of features that arnt on msn already ive had it for years :).

    Another thing you could do is install a VNC such as UltraVNC that lets u access the computer from another computer u can set it up so that it automatically logs u onto the other person screen and u can watch away

    Sorry for late reply, yes you can apply two values from a key in one registry file. You can open the .REG file up in Notepad to see what values from what keys you are copying over. (the keys are the folders - the values the string or data you enter to set the logging to be enabled)
