OK GUYS I HAVE FEW QUESTIONS:
1. which is the cheapest gprs plan available currently?
pay as you go or monthly? pleasse give details.

2. i wanna be able to browse websites such as MSE and ebay and others, which would be a suitable phone for browsing html websites? i like the w800i is it compatible with all websites? i know some phones my (nokia 3120) cant browse all websites. i had a N70 but sold it... and didnt really like it.

3. what about a plan out of grps? something like a 3g (the 3g services offered by vodaphone?) can i browse any websites with it?

i just wanna have mobile internet. i do have a laptop but i want something smaller yet efficient. any ideas?

please throw your ideas on any of my questions... wether it be the 3g plans, gprs or the phones or devices suitable for such a purpose.

thanks in advance.

I don't know much about his myself, but ...

I think you'll have problems trying to view ordinary webpages on a small screen, so setting up the phone as modem to use the laptop might be better, or get one of those 3g datacards. Some PDAs have VGA screen resolution, but I think I'd need a microscope to read this on there; I don't know if the resolution is adjustable or you end up scrolling across the page as you read - would soon get boring I think. Some websites will adjust to your screen width, but some do not, depending on how they are set up.

Not sure about plans but why not have a look at the O2 XDA Exec if you want mobile internet?

Large screen, full qwerty keyboard, mobile access and wi-fi access if you find a hot-spot (saving you from paying through GPRS).

I use a NOKIA 9500, and either it or the new 9300i (make sure you get the "i") will do exactly what you want quickly and efficiently! Both have WiFi - 9300i is better though as it's newer.

You have the excellent OPERA browser built in (even works with my banking accounts) and you can download OPERA MINI for free which is faster and will save you loads on your GPRS. I also use Skweezer which is an on-line compression service.

The main benefit is the VERY stable and secure Symbian operating system with loads of excellent add-on software, see My-Communicator for a taster!

For your GPRS, don't bother looking anywhere else than Orange, I've spend months trying to find a better & cheaper service and failed! You can choose from their £10/mt high speed data plan (dial up at 28.8k and voice calls) with GPRS a further £4 for 4mb and upwards. I have just changed from this to Pay as you go because I make very few voice calls. Now I'll just pay the £4 for the 4mb!!!!! :rotfl: Moneysaving or WHAT! :rotfl:

Hope this helps - click thanks if it does!

    regards
