If your exchange is non LLU then check out adsl24,they are totally british based inc customer service and with monthly contract and very reasonable prices to boot:D
I was with tiscali prior to adsl24 and my dl speed nearly tripled and so far my connection has never gone down;)
I was concerned by the different package dl limits but find i hard fill my monthly quota, plus weekends are unlimited anyways:D

IDNet and Zen are very good, but a bit more expensive than most.

If you have Sky, their broadband is dirt cheap.

p.s. a little typography tip: centring all your text makes it harder to read.

I know a lot of people knock aol but I've been with them for years with no complaints. Never any down time, good speeds & no restrictions & at only £9.99 month.
The bigger the bargain, the better I feel.

I should mention that there's only one of me, don't confuse me with others of the same name.
  • I can't suggest who to go with, but definately don;t go with Virgin!
I've had nothing but problems and very few of their "customer advisors" speak English.

You get what you pay for with ISP's. Certainly don't go for anyone on price alone.

Have a look at Think Broadband at http://www.thinkbroadband.com/search/package/basic.html

You can compare prices and speeds as well as reviews of what users think of their service.

callistris what you failed to mention about ADSL24 is they have the ALT system in use now so if its on and you dare to use the bandwidth you have paid for in peak times you can be flagged as a high user and believe me as iam with ADSL24 loads of people are complaining they are getting flagged for using just 400mb and less and still being flagged.

Regarding the Free extra allowance you get from 8pm-8am if your on the Office Package as the ALT is normally on people are scared to us it in case they get flagged.

If you get flagged 5 times in the month your speed gets reduced when the ALT is in use and it takes 14 days to get rid of them.

ADSL24 used to be an excellent ISP but now with them being a reseller for Entanet who have stopped the 300gb-330gb off-peak alowances packages they are getting loads of customers requesting their MAC codes.

If you take a look on DSL ZoneUK you will find they have slipped from 3rd place which they were at for a very long time to where they are now 8th place and dropping.

I like Freeola http://freeola.com/ (they use Entanet) - no data throttling.
