Bidder from France - I stated UK only

I currently have an item listed on ebay and it says postage to UK only. Someone from France has bid on it. Can I cancel their bid? Or should I ask them to retract their bid?

thanks in advance

How do you know they are from france? Are you just looking at their ebay location?

I bet you any money they eventually ask you to post to Nigeria.

Yes I was looking at their ebay location. I asked them to retract their bid and they have. How can I make sure this doesn't happen in the future?

Set your preferences to UK only.

    Why not sell abroad?

I've set them to UK only but it seems to still let people bid? Dont send abroad as I am worried about scams etc.

    http://pages.ebay.co.uk/help/sell/buyer-requirements.html

Start from here to set buyer requirements to exclude overseas bidders or bidders with NPB strikes etc.

Goodness, have you something against the French then? Personally apart from their postal service which can be a bit flakey I rarely have problems with French buyers at all.

Get proof of posting - covers you for £36 value overseas.

No more likely to have an issue posting to Europe and US as you are with UK.

So if you get scammed in the UK are you going to stop selling here?
