Returning a Pay and Go mobile

I bought the LG Cookie on Pay and Go from O2 just over a week ago and I'm not happy with it at all. When texting words will just disappear during or after typing them, the touch screen doesn't always respond and the battery life is shocking. Once the indicator is at 2 bars it drops very quickly and will be completely dead in a matter of hours even if I don't use it at all.

Presumably I can take the phone back if it is faulty for a new one but what if it is just how this mobile is. Is there anyway that I can change for a different model? I've always had sony erricssons in the past and they have been fine so I'm pretty disappointed with this new phone.

I could be wrong, and Im sure someone will tell me if I am, but if you return it with the receipt and in a saleable condition within 14 days (Could be 28, but take it back ASAP to be sure), you should be able to get a refund for any reason at all.

I remember an old girlfriend of mine used to do this with clothes. She would buy bundles of clothes at once from a shop, then get home try them on and decide she didnt like a few bits she'd bought, so she would then just take them back saying she didnt like them once she'd got home, and got a full refund. Alot of the shops gave her hassle about it, but as long as the goods arent damaged in any way, Im pretty sure they have to take them back and give a refund.

It may be different with phones, but I dont see why it should be...

    Best of luck though.

A retailer does NOT have to give you any form of refund for something which is not faulty.

As the OP is claiming that the phone IS faulty then they aren't returning it in a saleable condition.

OP - I have never used that handset so I couldn't comment.

I am assuming it is faulty but maybe this phone is just not as responsive or have as good battery life as I was expecting. To be honest I am pretty disappointed with it so will take it back to 02 tomorrow and see what they say
