i know this might sound odd, but perhaps they think you paid too early. we have had the same prob with them, paid early before going on hol, and got back to find late payment charge. took a few phone calls for them to confirm that we had paid, but as it was early their computer system put it into the previous month, so no payment registered the next month.

Paid too early? But surely that would make the account in credit?!

Were you only making minimum payments or something?

no - paid off full amount. account in credit, but computer said minimum payment not made by the specified date [paid too early, so computer said no]

really their system is very odd. finally got refund of late fee, and assistant on phone admitted that you cannot pay before a certain date[think our payment due 19th and we paid 9th] before your bill is due, and that it is not mentioned anywhere on their t and c's.

Do you think I should pay the late payment fee and interest and then claim it back when its sorted?
