GE Bank

Im really annoyed with GE bank. My hubby opened a burtons account card when he brought a suit from them {saving us 20%}As soon as the bill came through we paid the full amount off 12 days before it was due.Since then we have had letters saying we havent paid plus charging us £15 late payment fees, interest charges and account cover charges we have phoned them about 10 times and all we get of them is that we have to sort things out with the bank we paid it through.Ive just wrote them a letter with a copy of the paid statement.Has any one else had problems with them or are we just unlucky?

Where did you pay the full amount at? Did you pay it at a bank and have proof of it?

Right so did you pay by cheque, by cash or out of a current account etc? I dont think that GE Bank will accetp the bank stamp as proof of payment - I know it sounds stupid!

I paid by cash,I'm quite worried now as they might not take the stamped statement as proof of payment.

Why do you believe that, hjb123?

If you read down here the poster in that case had a stamped receipt for putting some cheques in!

    Thats okay!

I find it quite interesting, maybe even absurd. But I personally would expect a bank stamp in my paing in book or on a bill that I had paid in a bank to act as proof of payment!!!

I'll keep you posted as to how I get on,after reading the link I think we'll be asking to be refunded for all the phone calls we've made + interest.

I think that you will be lucky and are pushing it/going a bit far asking for that!
