Local Parking Security Fine - What to do?

I have just received the letter from them now - some weeks after the excess charge was received.
They have told me that I have to pay the full amount and that DVLA have been notified.
Should I still ignore them or write back with the proof of payment (the ticket)?
"DVLA have been notified"? What they mean is they paid £2.50 to DVLA to get the keepers details.
Just ignore them, they love slipping these official bodies in to try and intimidate.0 -
The only problem I see is that you wrote them a cheque. This is a contract in itself and irrespective of what the amount was for.
Can't see them doing much about it though...
Kellemar didn't write anyone a cheque, her post was about a ticket in June 2011. That's the trouble with posting on an old thread started by someone else.
@Kellemar, did you heed the advice you were given? Sorry but you should be laughing about this scam, ready for the letter-chain if you had looked at the top sticky thread, as the posters who replied to your first post advised you to. Settle down with a cuppa and look at the preview of your letter-chain so you know what will come next:

You will soon understand that you must just ignore the bogus PCN as it's a scam, it's NOT a fine. Make sure you watch the Watchdog link and check out the preview pics of the rest of the 'scary debt collector letter-chain' that you can look forward to filing in your drawer marked 'ignore, scam'.
ALWAYS simply ignore any private parking ticket. Only ever take seriously a ticket from the Police, TFL or a Council.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
