I've just took a look at their current prices - when I was using their service it was £6.99 a month, now it's £14.99?
Do I get twice the service? It's only been two years since I cancelled, I was shocked to see such a large (percentage wise) increase.0 -

I feel the same way as you. Total rip-off. Apparently, justified by including the random number they claim is your "credit score". Which lenders don't even look at. Before you had the option to pay separately for your credit score.0 -
Heh, obviously not enough people were [STRIKE]being conned[/STRIKE] buying the score.0

I decided to use CreditExpert to check my history - I'd used it once before, some 6 years ago, and was aware of the monthly charge but decided to try to sign up for another free trial. It recongised that I was the same person, prompted me to reset my password - and, on doing so, immediately activated a £14.99 / month account. I felt cheated - I read the T&Cs of everything and honestly don't think that anything was presented to suggest this would happen - but let it go as I wanted to see my report. I had a few outstanding accounts with zero balances, and one credit card with a £4k balance that I was due to pay off, so I thought I'd keep the account for 1 month. All was sorted with the relevant banks etc by mid-Oct; plenty of time I'd have thought to see the impact on my report and then cancel before 16th Nov, my billing renewal date.
As of 6th Nov, all my accounts updated, other than the outstanding credit card acccount. Today, the day after the monthly subscription renews, they finally update the account... showing a 'date updated' of 6th Nov. Not happy that they've cost me another £15 due to their sitting on the data for 12 days, I rang them. Gave me a load of hogwash about data not being accurate / inability to update data on the day it is received. I now work for a major international financial institution, in technology; we process in the order of trillions of transactions per day, and I challenged them on both claims ('data inaccuracy' is absolute rubbish). They simply said 'sorry, it's how we work' - no acceptance, no refund of the additional month's payment.
So three nasty experiences in a month - the 'trial' that wasn't (their system can't catch that you've clicked to reset your password via the trial page), a delay in processing the correct data and a refusal to take accountability for delays on their side, accompanied by unhelpful customer services staff who, frankly, made some pretty absurd claims and, in reality, couldn't give two hoots. I asked to be put through to a supervisor and I was told this was not possible as there wasn't one avaialable. I asked to wait and was told they would not allow this and would end the call. The icing on the cake is that I paid Experian 5p a minute for the privilege (on their 0844 number).
Just not a very nice Experian-ce.0 -
if you have had a bad experience with Experian please go to the I hate Experian face book page and share your experience with the world. At least other may not fall for the same tricks as we did.

I am trying to get a small phone contract £8 a month from orange who use this company.
I have been declined according to the credit reply.
I have signed up, informed them not to debit my credit card but I am still waiting (a week) for the pin number to get to my record.
I am fuming and here is why
a) I own my home no mortgage
b) I have no unpaid debts to my knowledge
c) I have no borrowing outstanding beyond the current month's usage on my credit card which I always settle in full even before it arrives by snail mail.
My credit score should either be "0" or "1000" to reflect that my life is debt and borrowing free.
The company shrug and say we are not responsible for how your credit score number is used.
I do not yet know what that number is and nor will they tell me
but they told orange ...0 -
Credit score is worthless. Every lender has different ways of scoring their potential customers. It's not really Experian's fault you were refused a phone contract.0
