I have to ask - is there any real point in a capped tarriff? It seems that as energy costs go up people with caps are just chased for more money later ( which they may not be able to afford) and causes all sorts of problems!

 I've no idea what you are intending to say. What you have written makes no sense. Are you confusing a capped tariff with an unlimited tariff? Capped tariffs cap the price that can be charged for each and every kWh the customer uses - the more you use, the more you have to pay.

If you can't afford to pay for power do not use it in the first place - that's the easiest way to avoid being pursued.

Sorry for being so vague. I recently switched suppliers to one that offered a capped tarrif, but to be on the safe side, I increased the monthly payments by £15 from the amount I was paying before. Around the same time I also switched to energy saving lamps throughout. Natuarally I thought that would be the end of it, but apparently not so. I am now receiving bills much higher than previously despite using less electricity. I think I've been had!
