:) I want to get the Marks and Spencer £10 Voucher that Lovefilm are giving to new customers.

So I made a new account with a different email adress, my mum's card abut the same home adress. The account got deleted and they said that, you can't have a free trial at the same adress again

My Housemate had this problem the other day, because I'm already doing the free trial from the same address. When Customer Services said he couldn't join (because they basically thought the same person was trying to do 2 free trials), he emailed them. He said that we're 2 different people living at the same address and it was unfair to penalise him basically just because I beat him to this offer, said that he regularly rents dvds and is very interested in trying out LF but wouldn't join without a free trial first....Within a few hours they emailed back saying they'd activated his account!

Not saying it'll definitely work and they may be a bit more suspicious if you have the same surname, but it's worth your Mum emailing them (or rather, you pretending to be her!) to complain. You never know, they may still sign her up, especially if she says that she's an avid film watcher and regularly rents dvds ;)

aumtumn girl, your housemate did a good little trick but geunine at the same time to get into their goodbooks:D, Im going to try that, thanks for posting.

I mean my mum & sister has completly different taste in movies then me. Each person is different and just because you live at the same address, you shouldn't be penalised, It seems unfair so your friend is completly right. My sister wanted to try the lovefilm trial and get her own choice of films but she can't because Ive already tried it out.

:o My siutation is a little bit different and I think I am being too greedy prehaps. Basically I was on a 90 day free trial in 2009 and I deactivated my account. In 2011 I made a new account, with a new email adress but the same home details as last time & so I got the code for a 30 day free trial and it ends on Feburary 11, surpsingly they let me have another free trial. ;)

But it sucked, because I wished I signed up to the 30 day free trial a weeks later because I realised that they were giving away £10 Marks & Spencer vouchers along with the 30 days. So then I decided to see what would happen if I signed up using a different email adress again, with the same home adress but using my mums name & debit card details, so that she could get the voucher.

But that didn't work. It was a bit silly actually & really obvious as

    A) I am already on a second 30 day free trial with DVDS being dispatched each time.
    B) At the same time I wanted to sign my up to a 30 day free trial for my mum.

That would literally mean that Lovefilm would have to send out
"4 DVDs" to the same adress.

It would have actually been better for me to finish my 30 day trial which ends in Feburary, cancell my account then a week later maybe sign my mum up.

But anyway I will still try doing this and if it doesn't work I will use your housemates tips! so thanks for telling me that.:A

Does anyone have one of those 3 months for 1 codes for existing customers pretty please?

    Thanks,

Thanks this didn't work for me online, (might be that that page is all new customer only offers, though it doesn't say?) but I reactivated over the phone instead and they have manually given me three months for 1 instead! yey! :j

  • Not signing up for Lovefilm - somehow they got my email address a while ago and I get too many marketing emails from them.
  • I want to sign up tp Lovefilm again.

How do people make up a adress and still get DVDs sent to their adress?:D

they DONT make up an address

also it depends how long you leave it as I just managed to re-activate an old account for a 30 day trial - not used it in about 18 months though
  • ^^ Im just curious as to how others managed to recieve the DVD's at their doorstep when they used a slight variation of the adress. I mean how does that work? wouldn't the postman be confused?

But anyway I think you are right, if you don't use your lovefilm account for a few months you can try again with the same name, adress etc. I did a 3 month trial in 2009 and then 2011 I got to do a 30 day trial. Maybe its because of the long gap the computer system didn't realise.:)

Anyway I kind of feel bad to keep getting trials because the service is so good, they give you so many offers with vouchers. I can't think of any other online film service that does that. With blockbuster you have to pay £1 for a 2 week trial.
