Sainsburys basics are good, except the beans, too watery for me, I prefer smartprice. Even prefer sp to heinz or other well known brands believe it or not.

Are they the same as in the Basics Beans and Sausages? Not tried the beans on their own but my sons devoured a tin of the afore-mentioned beans and sausages on Saturday and said they were 'great'...and they didn't look watery. 36p for a 539g tin is a massive bargain IMO when you consider a 440g tin of Heinz's version will knock you back almost a quid.

We will be trying Sainsburys this weekend after reading threads here.
    Sounds good :)
  • Today we bought Sainsburys Basics Hot Chocolate, just add hot water. It's a 400g tub for 50p!! It probably costs a bit more than the large stores because we only have a small local store and for some reason everything costs that bit more!

    The kids love it!!

Same price (50p) on my online order so probably same price in all the stores. Yet another billy bargain!

    Very happy :)

Completely agree again with Sains, I would much sooner eat sains basics than anyone elses.

Another good point is even thier Basics tea bags are fair trade- all sains teas are fair trade :j so thats allowed us to reduce our costs a little ( we now buy red label - quite a bit stronger than Clipper, which I prefer) and save almost a quid a box and they are often on half price. or 2 for £2 ( 80 box)

The other great thing about sains is that thier free range/ RSPCA chickens are pretty much always on offer, 1.3rd off or similar so free range/or RSPCA can be as cheap as battery chicken. :T

Another vote for Sainsbury's here! I was unable to get most value stuff online from Tesco's, so tried Sainsbury's and found it great. Better veg and better delivery service. Also with free delivery when you spend £100 and extra nectar points via nectar estores at the moment.........took the kids to the cinema for free last halfterm using nectar points, it makes up for no Clubcard points.

Here's another thing - we are very recent 'converts' to Sainsburys and have mde 2 online orders so far. We ended up with so much stuff (99% Basics!) that we decided we'd not order this week but make an order next week instead. In the meantime, not sure if Sainburys computer flagged up that were may have 'defected' by not ordering this week but they have sent us a £15 off £70 e-voucher! Needless to say we have taken them up on this very generous offer! Methinks we may need a kitchen extension to put this lot out of sight, lol.

You regular Sainsburys shoppers, are these e-vouchers a regular incentive or is ours a bit of a one-off? TIA!

OOh another thing that sains regualrly do is if you are a nectar holder they often send MOCS.

Me ( and OH!) both got a load of vouchers £2 of a 20 quid spend. We tend to only spend about 30pw anyway ( albeit not all in sains, some in waitrose or M&S) so this makes a big difference!

I have clubcard MOCs I havent even used I cant even bear to go in there any more Im so over it and its so expensive.
