I bought an L7 on Orange off-peak 1000 last week from e2save, and the phone came with just the battery, charger and basic handbook.

Does anyone know whether this is correct, as I'd been expecting at least a basic headset and a memory card, usb cable and software cd to enable use of the mp3 feature?

I bought one of these on 02 from another retailer - it doesnt come with any extras - you have to buy them as optional accessories.

Only Nokia's seem to come with cables/software etc

Thanks for the info - were you interested enough to buy the bits - headset, memory card, etc - and if so , where's the best place to get them?

I bought my L7 on PAYG direct from orange, it came with a memory card and full size slot adaptor, earphones/hands free plus some extra sponge covers for the earpieces. Also came with both motorola and orange branded geting started and instruction books.
Did yours come in an Orange branded box?

You only need a mini usb cable to copy MP3s onto the phone from a pc and this cable will also charge the phone. (contrary to the book which suggests you need a "motorola" one.) I used the one that came with my digi camera.

The memory card is minute, you could always use the adaptor and transfer songs with a cards reader.

There is mention of some phone management software in the book but I think this is related to syncing calenders, contacts etc..

I bought a Motorola V3 from e2save this week, on the free phone line rental refunded deal. Came with charger, USB cable and software CD. The software can be found on the internet - do a Google on "Mobile Phone Tools", great piece of free software that helps make your own MP3 rings. USB cable is same as the one I use with digital camera
    am I missing something ??

Thank for your comments, basill and Rickycowslip.

My purchase from e2save does not have the Orange branded box and extra books, and as I said above, not the memory card nor earphones.

If I'm to use the mp3 feature, I'll need to buy the memory card myself, and I'm told that the maximum size handled is 512 mb. The usb connector looks standard, and a family member has a V3 on order with e2save, which hopefully will have a suitable usb cable included.

The e2save website does actually state (currently whether it did last week is another matter) that the L7 includes 'support' for memory cards not that youwill get one. Looking on some other generic istes it always seems to mention support and maximum possible card sizes rather than the phone would be supplied with a card

    emc,
I`ve figured out the basics of the phone now, If you want any of my books pm me and I could send you them?

Some things puzzled me esp the keypad lights it took google to tell me there is a light sensor and they only come on in low light!
Quite pleased with the phone now though.

Thanks for your generous offer - I don't think I need your books, but I'm trying out the features and will certainly pm you on any tricky point if I need to!

Bought a 512Mb transflash card for this phone via mymemory.co.uk for circa £20 the cheapest by far on the web - plus going through cashback site (Quidco) to get more back
