100 megabits per second is approximately 10 megabytes per second - so in theory a 100 megabyte file should transfer in 10 seconds, in truth very few transfers happen at full wire speed due to various overheads.
Sometimes you will see megabit abbreviated as Mb and megabyte abbreviated as MB. Just remember that the number of bytes per second that can be transmitted on a line is roughy one tenth of the number of bits.0 -
