I am sorry that question is probably really stupid to ask, but is 100.0mbps 1 mb or 10? or not even that? I'm supposed to be on the 2meg pack and had a letter from virgin saying i would be upgraded to 10, I have no idea so thought i'd ask
Thank you.

Thank you.

Not sure I quite understand the question, but your connection will be five times as fast after Virgin have done the upgrade0

100mbps is what your computer is telling you it is the speed it could transfer at if it were possible. You probably have 10mb unless you accidentally brought a 100mb package which might be pricey.
Internet speed test http://www.speedtest.net/0 -
the 100mbs is the link speed between your computer and the modem..as reported by the little icon on your taskbar
Your internet connection is currently 1/50th of this speed...soon to be upgraded to 1/10thUtinam logica falsa tuam philosophiam totam suffodiant.0 -
Nope, I've not bought that lol, it's just when I hover my mouse over the tv screen thing near the clock on the screen
it says 100.0 mbps and I just wondered what it meant , sorry I knew when I posted I hadn't explained it very well,
Thanks for the replys0 -
I'm not really a techie person, but my understanding is that the 100mbps means 100megabits per second data transfer rate. That figure is the connection speed between your pc/laptop and your router. Your broadband connection speed will be 2 megabits per second, soon to be increased to 10 megabits per second. Hope this helps.0

eyeinthesky is spot on.They say it's genetic, they say he can't help it, they say you can catch it - but sometimes you're born with it0

Ah, I see what you mean! thomas01155, DatabasError and eyeinthesky are right.
You would get 100 Mb/s between two computers on your network, but not out to the Internet. Virgin probably will be able to offer 100Mb/s to many customers at some stage, but not just yet!0 -
Just done the speedtest and it says DL speed 2.17mb, Upload 0.23, ping 124 ms, So just over the 2mb, sorry that 100.0mb confused me lol thanks for the link0
