Samsung Tocco Ultra - deals?

Hi,

I'm hoping someone can point me in the right direction for a good deal on the Samsung Tocco Ultra.

I am currently a Virgin mobile pay monthly customer and have just come to the end of my contract. I really fancy the new Tocco Ultra but Virgin don't have it and I don't seem to be getting much for my £25 a month with them anymore.

I have looked ononline at Orange and the cheapest they seem to do with a free phone is just under £35 a month on an 18 month contract and I can't stretch to the £35. Vodafone do have it free for £25 a month but it's on a 24 month contract which I think is a little too long to commit to, I'd be happy with 18 months though.

I just wondered if anyone has come across any good deals or has any idea where to find one. Is it worth ringing Vodafone or Orange and seeing what they have to offer? IS is possible to get deals that way? I'd be over the moon to find it for £25 a month, am I kidding myself?!

Thanks for your help in advance.

Debbie

  • I phoned up Vodafone to ask about the deal they have going on the nokia 5800 (10 months half price, 600mins, unlimited texts, unlimited internet 35quid a month on 18month contract) but because Vodafone are so low on stock with the phone and have such a backlog of customers they are really trying to push other phones. The woman said one on offer is the Tocco which she originally said was the F480 but said she'd be able to a deal on the Tocco Ultra on a similar price plan as the offer for the 5800. My problem with the tocco ultra is that it doesnt have wi-fi but if it comes with unlimited internet then it's not a problem.

Another thread on here recently also showed someone being able to get a deal that was lower and a better tarrif than what's advertised online or instore.

Basically, to cut the waffle - it seems Vodafone are pushing the tocco ultra because they're so inundated with requests for the 5800 so it's worth a go. Maybe ask about the online offer first and then look to negotiate. Vodafone seem to be the only network that seem to have a bit of leeway with new customers. That might be because people have problems with customer services, mind you.
