Cheapest Nintendo DSi console: get one half-price if you trade an old console

What's the deal?
Nintendo's released a newer version of its enduringly popular DS console called the DSi, which retails for around £150. As with other Nintendo products, demand's keeping the prices quite high, but you can still save £15 by buying from the right place, or get one half-price by trading in an old console.
Is it worth it?
Rather than being the next generation of console, with improved graphics etc, the DSi is merely an improved DS; it's 12% thinner than its predecessor, with a larger brighter screen (which also reduces its battery life somewhat) and 2 built in low-quality cameras. It also has a web browser and music player (AAC iTunes files only - thanks ex_directory) as standard - features which while available on the DS, require third-party accessories.
Considering the DSi costs around 50% more than the DS Lite, it doesn't seem like you get much for the extra cash, though should a killer game with clever camera integration appear soon, it might become a more appetising prospect.
Trade in a console and get it for £75 at Game
If you have an old DS Lite, XBox 360 20GB or Wii you can get a DSi for half price at Game until Tuesday 14 April.
A quick glance on eBay shows that many DS Lite consoles go for under £75, so a guaranteed £75 off for the trade in makes this a nice deal if you want to upgrade. Yet the same doesn't apply to the Xbox 20GB or Wii, which both command a bit more. You'd be especially mad to trade the Wii in for £75 off a DSi, as you could get at least £125 for it on eBay, and a fair bit more with games.
The terms state that consoles have to be UK models only, in good condition and have all its essential components including chargers. Find your nearest Game.
The cheapest without trade-ins:
If you don't want to trade another console, and you've already decided (or been told!) nothing but a DSi will do, here are the cheapest options:

Small correction to the article. The DSi is not an mp3 player. It can play AAC files though (the standard iTunes format). Aparently the CEO from Nintendo has said that they did not want to support mp3 as most mp3's are pirated.

My daughter has wanted a DS since they first came out. Recently a friend of hers, who had two DS Lites, gave her one. It worked, but not 100% I was so excited when I read about this offer and rushed into Game with the one she was given and £75 (Her birthday is on Monday - what a perfect gift and just affordable for me!) Imagine my disappointment when I was told that I had to buy a £199 bundle :-( They would then take the £75 off that price. The reason is that they didn't have many DSi's left, so were only offering the bundle. I had sent my daughter into a different shop, so she didn't know what I was up to, and I had to decide there and then (or else there would probably be none left! And I wouldn't have time before Monday to go back into town again). Reluctantly I did the deal. I spent more than I wanted (or could afford) and am left with a sour taste in my mouth. Yes, I could have walked away, but she has waited so long to have one of these, that I really wanted to take advantage of the offer. Do you think I should write to Game to complain? Or is it acceptable to change offers, even when the signage clearly states the original offer?0

what is the difference between the nintendo ds and dsi please? I know the dsi is the latest one but is it worth buying a ds?Life is too short to waste a minute of it complaining about bad luck. Find joy in the simple things, show your love for those around you and be grateful for all that you have.0

I was trading in my old xbox and games in CEX today and overheard that they give something like £70 -£80 trade in for DS lite depending on condition and weather boxed etc, they offer cash or store credit (you get more if choose store credit on some things) not sure if they sell the DSi but could be another avenue if ebay prices on DS lite aren't as good??
