if anyone is with BT I can recommend their tariff 3 which gives free calls from your landline to other landlines for up to one hour - I beleive they also now give free calls to 0870 and 0845 calls- but would advise anyone to double check that with BT
I pay £17 per month for this tariff and have seen my bills come down by about £45 per quarter
of course mobiles are charged for at the usual expensive rate

I am also with BT, but on the free evening and weekend calls plan.

Calls to tax credits are, indeed, free (within the constraints of my calling plan).

While this narrows down the time when I can call tax credits, i.e. after 7pm weekdays and all day on a Saturday, it is invaluable for those times when you are holding on for, what seems like, forever.

I can't imagine how much my calls to tax credits would cost otherwise.
