Book tickets(or time slot if using vouchers/cash) It's essential if you don't want to be hanging about waiting to go in as it can get very busy. I use the tesco clubcard deals and get in much cheaper or you can print off a voucher that gets one child in free:D. (Go through the days out links on this site to find it)
Apart from that it is a good day out, interesting too, You will find out loads of stuff about chocolate and sample a fair bit too:D
We travel by train and as you get closer to the exhibition you can smell the chocolate because you walk past the factory buildings and sometimes you can peek inside, though you do get to see some of this on the factory tour anyway, it's just a nice little bonus for those of us who have to walk/catch the train:T
:hello: Hiya, I'm single mom, avid moneysaver and freecycler, sometimes  but definatly :D

We only live in Dudley so Bourneville isn't too far for us. I have to admit, i don't remember having to wait around a great deal when we went and we've been quite a few times (till they jacked the prices up)

One thing to try, is to ring ahead and ask about the tickets for the staff shop (i believe these are only issued on certain days) Loads of cheap chocolate :j

I'd agree it's pretty expensive and it certainly doesn't take a whole day. If you go later in the day - even about 3pm, the queues have gone and you can go through at your leisure.

I love the little chocolate bean ride. When it was quiet I've been allowed on twice, lol! In the holidays they often have a tent down in Cadbury land where you can do craft activities etc. We don't go anymore as it is v expensive now and when you've seen it once, you've seen it all. My kids like to play in the park at cadbury land but that's actually free

If you're driving then maybe you could visit the nature centre down on the Pershore Road in the morning - it's really very cheap indeed, free parking and it's like a mini-zoo. Our kids love it.

    Adults £3.00
    Children under 5 years FREE
    Children (5-15 years) £1.00

If you can get there just before it opens (9.30am for the main season I think) then DON'T book tickets. We arrived at 9am and parked up fairly close to the entrance. By opening time there were about 30-40 families who had prebooked waiting to collect their tickets and only a handful of us walking in paying cash or Tescos. We got in way before the majority crowd. :D The people paying didn't look too happy.

Only prebook if you plan to arrive later or in the afternoon.

No, but I once took my wife up the Bourneville Boulevard.
Please take the time to have a look around my Daughter's website www.daisypalmertrust.co.uk
