I know....we've never flushed normal wipes but have used the special ones designed for flushing! Hope your patio is sorted now:eek:
Yes, all sorted - we haven't done it since Dynorod told us off and said we'd have to pay for the next call-out if we did it again (we're covered by Homecare).

As for your little girl, she's only just started learning so I wouldn't get too stressed about it (unless she actually seems to be in pain). My boy took about a year to be completely dry - we just stuck him in pants and let him wet himself. He eventually got the idea. Trouble was he just didn't mind having wet trousers

i think youve siad it all when you state she only started on saturday. potty training is a big big thing for a young child, a complete change to what they ares used to.

Just keep offering loads of encouragement and dont get short if she has an accident. you need to give it a week at least and just when you think youre getting nowhere she will make a breakthrough and relax more.

Get her involved in the whole process, even if she only manages a tiny wee in the potty get her to help empty it and flush it away.

We got my fairy obsessed daughter lots of fairty knickers which she loved wearing.

when i was pregnant with my middle child i found a baby magazine that had tips from a book called 'potty train in one week' (i think).

i thought yeah right, but brought it as my son was just two , so thought might be time to give it a go.

from what i can remeber it suggested that you leave them with nothing on for the first day, and sit them on the pot every 10 minutes. (i put him in a nappy pant for bed).

the next day i sat him on the pot every half hour, and then the next asked him if he needed a wee every 15 minutes or so.

the only trouble i found was that he dint like to go infront of people so i put the potty out of sight for him.

I also never put him back in a nappy, only for bed but i bought pull ups and told him they were special bed pants.

in the end it took him two weeks to master it, and within six weeks of that he was dry in the night.

my second child (girl) took about the same time, but longer through the night, and my third (girl) i put in knickers the day after she was two and she has wet herself twice!!!

i do think it depends on the child but this really worked for me, hope it helps

    take care

Sounds like my eldest - he was a nightmare!!!

Anyhow...thanks for the advice everyone. I'm beginning to think she's playing me up a little....I'm not constantly reminding her now as she's refusing to sit on the potty at all, keeps saying she wants the toilet, but then when we get there - won't sit. She's stayed dry this morning though;) - did a wee on the toilet (and got upset:o) but then stayed dry until we got to nursery - will have to see how she's got on later!!

I think she's enjoying the attention to be honest, so I'm trying to keep it low key & not going on at her - she's so like my eldest son - stubborn & will only do things when SHE wants to - not when we want her to. :rotfl:

I haven't cause I don't think I've got any stickers at the moment:o - suppose I could have a hunt through the kids craft cupboard & see what I can find. It's been so long since we've needed to do any reward charts to be honest - but I'm sure it'd help!!

    hi,

my 2 1/2 year old is vey independant too. she wont use the toilet if anyone else is in the room. we had to make sure there was always somewehere private for the potty to be and now since we've moved she just takes herself to the downstairs toilet and calls when she is done. at my mother in laws where she is when Im at work she takes the potty to the hall so she can get to it herself. maybe an audience puts your little one off? ;)

She doesn't like her brothers being there - but won't let me leave her:confused:. I don't let the boys in the bathroom and she was sitting on the potty in a discreet area of the lounge - but now won't sit on it at all!!
