Porting number

Hi guys, can you help?

Some of you may know of my problems with my upgrade but let me refresh my predicaments.

I had been with Orange for a number of years. After reading of the various deals offered to MSE members, when my contract came for renewal I asked for a similar deal. Orange did not offer me a deal so I decided to ask for my PAC code. Orange charged me £6.81 for the PAC code.

As I already had a Vodafone sim for my wife I contacted Vodafone. I was offered a deal (which I've posted on another thread). On the basis of that deal I ported my Orange number to Vodafone.

But when I received the paperwork the deal was not what I wasquoted. As the contract was less then 14 days I asked to send back the phone, end the contract and issue me with a PAC code. Vodafone sent me the envelope to Post back the phone.

I've now been offered the original deal but I feel I've been lied to and I don't like to give my business to them.

I've asked them to port my original number to my wife's Voda sim but they are refusing to do that.

I therefor want to ask is that:
I ported my number on the basis of the deal that was offered to me. I was mis-sold the Vodafone phone when they refused the deal I was offered. I have now sent back the phone.

So what are my rights to port my original Orange number to the Voda sim that I have?

  • I think the problem is that you would be trying to port a Voda contract number to another Voda contract, which is not possible. And Orange shouldn't be charging for PAC's as far as I was aware?

The issue will be that you get a certain window in which to port your number, say the first 14 days or first 3 months of a contract. After that you can't port the number onto that sim.

Ask for it to be transferred to voda payg then once you get a new contract port it onto there.

Be very careful, as in your situation it is quite possible you will lose the number completely as Voda will return it to Orange.
