Scart 1 is RGB capable whilst scart 2 is COMPOSITE ONLY (Meaning a drop in quality from scart 1

For all the revisions of the Sky hardware? Makes sense I guess, since it's intended for a VCR. Either way, scabby composite is better than the blank white screen that the main scart's outputting just now, I guess.They say it's genetic, they say he can't help it, they say you can catch it - but sometimes you're born with it0 -
@Wee-geek
I dont get your last gist.
Are defining scart 1 and 2 or what?
I have been checking ebay and gumtree for a replacement box.0 -

No worries, I'm not disputing it. Makes perfect sense.
I'm more well versed with DVB-* cards for computers and the linux based STBs.@Wee-geek

Sorry, Rik and I kinda hijacked the conversation, but it was still relevant-ish.
There are usually two scarts on the back of the sky box. One for the TV, one for the video recorder. The video recorder won't give you as clear a picture, most likely, but it'll let you watch TV in the meantime while you get a new box, assuming it's just the main scart connector that's broken on the sky box.
If you want to spend a bit more, you could get yourself a dreambox for PVR functionality. Great boxes, but more expensive than a standard sky box.They say it's genetic, they say he can't help it, they say you can catch it - but sometimes you're born with it0 -
The scarts is one for video and the other one to be connected to TV. Isnt it?
The audio is ok but blank(white) picture. I was suspecting the F-type plug.
Thanks
It isn't the " f " plug, it sounds very much like the receiver is !!!!!!ed, try to borrow one to verify this, failing that a car boot or eBay would be your best option.0 -
