This is half price at Boots and on the vodaphone network not being very good with mobiles I wonder if all you experts could advise me. my daughter would like a camera phone and I thought I would get her one for Christmas but maybe you know of a better offer/model etc. she is on pay as you go with Orange at the moment.

Yes, go to this link and note the Nokia 7600 on the 3 network. It is a contract phone, £4.99 per month for 12 months would give you 500 minutes a month, at any time to any network, plus 100 texts.

The total cost to you would be £59.88 for the whole year.

You're unlikely to do better. Simply cancel the contract after 12 months and use the handset on a pay as you go basis.

Last week I tried it on motorway from Manchester to Liverpool and from Liverpool to Birmingham. There was no problem for me.

Be careful about listening to peoples advice on how good or bad networks are. Truth is, they're all good and bad at times, largely dependent on where you are.

People had bad experiences with Orange when it first came on the scene. That's fair enough. But people tend to remember the bad times and so Orange was tainted with a poor network reputation. Today, nobody questions the viability of Oranges coverage. Yet you still get people saying that Oranges network is poor based on an experience they had some years ago.

Just come out of a 12 month contract with '3', now on Orange, nuff said.

With regard to your original post, that looks like a good price, same as Amazon and less than Comet, etc. That model also gets some quite good reviews.
