I got 2 eggs instore yesterday but one of them was badly damaged. I didn't mind, it could be for me :)

We opened it tonight and it's in bits, really crushed - I hope the other one's okay, mind you the box isn't dented so it's probably alright.

The egg is in a lovely bag inside - shiny purple see-through stuff (irridescent?) with a ribbon tie.

I'll get brownie points for the other one, it's for my mum :)

    O. M. G. !!
Just got my order 4 eggs £27.96 - Promotions Savings £21.96!!!
Thank you sooooo much Steff for finding and posting this great offer.
I really didn't think there would be any left this late and even then I was expecting to have to send them back or argue with CS. Used a £5 voucher on my order too - so a real bargain, thanks again :T
  • Well here we go... Just received my order. I was substituted with 6 Cadbury Dairy milk large eggs (£4.99 BOGOF) total value of £29.94 instead of 8 cadbury collection dairy milk eggs!! total value of £55.92!! Not sure how they thought that would be a great substitute?! Admittedly the eggs I received do have a large bar of dairy milk and an egg so are reasonable value for the £11.72 I was charged and I did get my 750 points so really they have only cost me £4.22 :) However, I am not trying to be greedy but have emailled them to complain that the substitute is of lower value and that I am a little disappointed as I was really hoping to get the cadbury collection ones for adult relations. So I shall see what they say. I am pretty sure they will tell me to !!!!!! off as I have still got a good deal but certainly worth a try due to my disappointment ;)

just want to say a big thankyou to the original poster.
ie just had mr tesco knocking on my door with a delivery of ten eggs.

.... driver immediately said that he had a feeling i would be sending them back as a lady from sunderland has just done the same thing as she was charged more than she wanted. my reply was oh, i know few friends that have had the same problem tonight, can i ring CS, 'yeh no bother'.

Got straight through and explained; gentleman was lovely and said he had just had a memo about this and they have been told to honour the offer :)

Driver was lovely about it too. Got 5 vouchers for school, 802 points and paid just over £12 for 10 of these fab eggs (used delivery discount code for 6.25 and was charged 3.50 for delivery)

    Thanks loads x x x x
  • Thank you very much for this thread, I still grabbed a bargain even though it wasn't the actual one posted!! :)

Wow, even better than the deal I got in Home Bargains today! My Cadburys Collection egg in a nice purple tin cost me 3.49 I think and I thought that was a good deal but two for 3 quid in Tesco....!!! Great spot OP wish I'd read this first before I went to the normally fab Home Bargains.
  • Hi everyone,

This is my first post, I have been reading this thread with interest because I too had ordered the Cadbury eggs 2 for £3 and since reading all your post had been wondering if I would receive my egg order at the price stated on the tesco site.

I had ordered other eggs aswell as these special offer ones and tonight my order arrived but I had been charged 2 for £10, I called CS and got a very unhelpful man seemed rather off I explained about the offer on the tesco online site his reply was well that is an online error they are 2 for £10 and basically if I didn't like it I can take them back to any shop for a refund.

I did just that I was not very happy with the response I got and after reading all the post on here was half expecting to not have a happy helper at the store I couldn't have been more wrong, I spoke to a lovely lady that was totally unaware of this offer, I explainded what had happened she phoned for someone to come down and confirm the refund she too was unaware of this error offer and said go ahead with the refund, after I received the refund the lady said she was curious as to what the price of these eggs would be so she scanned then while I was still there and sure enough they came up for all 4 total £6, she said to her colleges look at this they were all quite shocked she then turned round to me and said would you like to buy them back all 4 for £6 I said yes so she aswell as refunding me I was allowed to buy all 4 back for £6....result I went home very happy and faith restored. :)

Thank you to the person that started this thread and also thank you to you all for you inputs they have been very helpful :)
  • Well my order came similar to other people I was substituted with 6 Cadbury Dairy milk large eggs (£4.99 BOGOF) total value of £29.94 instead of 10 cadbury collection dairy milk eggs total value of £66.90!!

Im coming to think this could be some cleverness by Tesco.

"Why dont we muck up the pricing - More people order the eggs - Then send them a lower standard egg as a replacement " and just hope people dont send them back . - Extra sales for Tesco

Im happy with the eggs i got anyways - but the collection ones would of been better but ahwell

Part of the Furniture Combo Breaker I've been Money Tipped!
I just ate one of the caramel ones I got sent as a substitute for the same price - I guess they are the same.

The egg inside the tin comes in a lovely purple material draw string bag.
The egg is really really thick chocolate and inside the main egg is another egg and inside that 3 smaller eggs wrapped in silver paper.

    Great deal.
