Is it possible to change from Orange Offpeak XNet 1000 mins to Orange 120 Anytime mins?. Both plans are £25 per month?.

If so, I can buy a offpeak Xnet offer from e2save.

Yes it is possible to change. But, and there's always a but, if you're on a cashback deal with e2save then you will be undertaking not to change your tariff for all or some of the contract period. If you do so, then you will invalidate the cashback agreement.

Thanks. I will call e2save tomorrow and ask about this. But I won't get the whole £41.5 from quidco tomorrow.

    These are e2save's terms:

    8. Changing Price Plan
The pricing of a phone (and any associated offers inc. cashback/line rental) is dependent on a specific price plan being selected. If you subsequently change this price plan within the periods defined below then the purchase price variance for the phone, based on the price plan you have actually changed to, will be charged to your credit/debit card.

Periods during which "purchase price variance change of price plan charge" will apply:

    T-Mobile 11 Months
    Vodafone 9 Months
    O2 6 Months
    Orange 6 Months
    3 6 Months
    BT Mobile 6 Months
    Virgin Mobile Duration of contract

In addition, any cashback/line rental offers will be reclaimed if these are not applicable to the price plan you have changed to. We therefore strongly advise that you do not change your price plan within the specified periods.

I have today spoke to 3 sales people, 2 in e2save and 1 cpw express.

first person in e2save said, If I change tariff (downgrade or upgrade) for first 6 months on Orange contract, then it will affect my cashback.

the other 2 persons said, if I downgrade then it will affect my cashback, but if I change the tariff (to one with same line rental or higher) then it won't affect my cashback.

    Get it in writing............

Their terms and conditions are clear, ie with Orange, no changes for six months. In addition to that, if you change to a plan that didn't have the appropriate cashback offer then the cashback claim will be invalidated. and possibly, any cashbacks youu have received could be recovered from you. Therefore there are two obstacles that you will need to satisfy in order to successfully claim and retain all of your cashbacks.

If I was you I would not change tariff at all throughout the 12 month period.

Yes, I will definitely get it in writing. If don't they give that, I will go with Anytime 200 tariff which is extra £60 compared to Offpeak Xnet tariff

Why not apply for the tariff you actually want? If the offers are different, then it will almost certainly affect their commission and your cashback

Just to note I was looking at doing this with The Link, and their terms were you can change to any other tarrif during the claim period so long as it costs more. You could not change to another tarrif that costs the same without it affecting your cashback.

The reason for this appears to be the amount of commision they receive does depend on the tarrif but is generally more for a higher tarrif.

Therefore in this case if you wanted say the Nokia 6230i on Orange on a £25 tarrif, better to go for the 1000 non-crossnet minutes at £20 (and get £240 cashback) and upgrade than to go for the 1000 cross-net off peak minutes at £25 (and only get £225 cashback) that is of course so long as you can upgrade the tarrif straightaway.

on a split between ordinary and off-peak contracts, the commission may differ, so I wouldn't assume that unless they specifically said so.
