Natwest e-ISA ID requirements

I'm interested in transferring my ISA to Natwest's e-ISA. Since I don't have any accounts with them they'll need to check my ID/address. The page about application talks about sending documents in but I'd rather not have to trust my important documents to the postal service and Natwest.
Is it certain that they'll need to see documents or will they, like other banks, be able to just do the check electronically? Failing that, could I take them into a branch for them to check?

I've asked similar here too. I've applied for an esavings account so I can get an eISA but I hope it will not be necessary to send ID off. Don't know if a branch can do the ID verification and somehow tell the esavings branch. Wait and see when I get the stuff in the post I suppose. Don't mind so much it it is returned by return and securely too. Then apply for the e-ISA. Pity it isn't possible.... oh... I see it is having read it again.... I was going to say pity not possible to apply for both together. Gulp0
