    As soon as you hit the download threshold you data rates are cut by 75% for several hours, so the service is basically capped. Virgin claim its for the top 5% of users but not sure I agree with these numbers as more and more people turn to use online services (movie rentals, on demand services, music downloads, developers etc..).

    As with most utility services (the mobile phone & energy companies are great at these "hidden" features) most of the broadband companies will jump on the same wagon resulting in loss of true competition and prices being raised.
