Virgin upper class

I am due to fly out in October to Australia and have decided to spend that bit extra. Virgin appear to be offering the best deal at the minute. I have looked at numerous reviews for Business/first class and they all seem very mixed !
The other carriers in contention are :
Emirates
Singapore airlines
SAS
Finnair
Does anyone have any experience of which offers the best total package ?
All comments appreciated.

Sorry, I didn't fly with any of those (went with Qantas), but let me tell you that flying Business to Australia will be the best investment for good holidays! You'll have a great flight and absolute zero jetlag, able to start your holidays fresh and normal right from minute 1. HonestlyBeing brave is going after your dreams head on0

Virgin is a very good package, I have flown Upper a few times with them, but having seen photos and read reports on the other airlines I would myself plump for either Singapore or Emirates in that order. Of course how much more they come in at over the VS price will have a lot of bearing as well. The common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot. If you deal with the lowest bidder, it is well to add something for the risk you run, and if you do that you will have enough to pay for something better.0

VS upper is great both on the ground and in the air.
I doubt you'll be dissapointed.0 -
Read in the paper today that Emirates has a sale on business class - think it's £1899 to Sydney.0

Any of the ones mentioned would be fine. Get prices and compare the lowest 2.
Be warned once you have flown long haul in Business Class its next to impossible to bring yourself to go back to cattle class!!0 -

The problem is Emirates and Singapore seem to score highly on first class but fall down a fair bit on business class.
The first class packages are just not competitive on price.0 -

Yes thats my motivation for doing it !
Quantas and BA are just too expensive though.0 -

If you chose your flight with either of these, but especially Singapore, you could take an A380 for at least part of the trip. And business class on that aircraft is a whole other experience, so I've heard.0 -

Bear in mind that not all Emirates planes have lie-flat seat in Business class. The older Emirates Business class seats are nothing to write home about - just larger versions of economy class seats.

If I could go again I would only go Business Class and would choose Emirates over Singapore Airlines. It's such a long journey and I found I couldn't sleep in
cattle class.0
