hi reportinvester, even though i have sent the forms of to cash in, i did ask for a maturity value issustration which is as follows, i hope this helps anyone else who took the policy out around 2001
my policy was 10 a month increasing 2 pound a year to 20 , for the last 10 years,
DATE OF MATURITY; OCT 2016
4%PA 8%PA
GUARANTEED CASH SUM, £2400 £2400
COMPOUND BONUSES EXISTING NOW £161 £161
ILLUSTRATED FUTURE BONUSES £659 £1489
TOTAL £3220 £4050
so if i paid in for the 15 years i would of paid in £3260
as if the rate of growth would ever get to 4% i would stil be worse off!!
hope this helps someone:o0 -
Result - first offer was 460.00 If you have been following my story you will know I was having none of it and wrote again requesting it all back and today they have deposited 1,293.18 into my account - thank gawd I never agreed to the first offer (unlike my daughter who took the first offer without realising and now is kicking herself ) so don't take first offer hold on and demand the whole lot back !
Good luck to you all -x-0 -

My daughter is now going to write to them and say not only did they midlead her with the policy but also on what she was entitled back - so they have pulled the wool over her eyes twice - unfortunately she accepted her measley 300 quid a couple of weeks before I put in for my settlement it was only reading this forum that I decided to go for the whole lot - well it's her money so why shouldn't she have it all back - we come from the same household took our policies out the same time so whats different ! I'll keep you postedmyrtle wrote:blimey, well done!0 -

yes i am another mug who took out a cash builder plus and i am so glad i found this thread. I started paying £20 a month in 2001 and it went up by £4 a year this year i am paying £36 a month. So fas i have paid to AXA £1680 i phoned up and my settlement figures was £812. I was wondering did any one else when they took out there policy get half there first years payments back. I have wrote to them to claim mis-selling but i have heard nothing yet. As I took out the poilcy March 2001 I think that i would come under the mis-selling dates#Sealed pot #085.
