i've searched and got alsorts of info but still not entirely certain whether to get one-not purchasing for myself and the tv is £587 but i've been asked to get an extended warranty.obviously i'm trying to save money and i know nowt about LCD tv's except that they're expensive and i'd heard expensive to fix if they develop a fault.dixons coverplan is £169 for 3 years is it worth buying one? also does the 3 years start after the one year manufacturer's warranty ends?

cheers

Pay with a Nationwide Credit card for an extra year's cover.

We've always brought our TVs from John Lewis, they've priced match other stores and the warranty and service makes them unbeatable IMO.

Richer Sounds have quite a decent warranty package, although it's not free. It's 10% of purchase price for 5 years IIRC.

Yes, I strongly agree with buying it from John Lewis. They have "Never knowlingly Undersold" so you can rest assured you are getting (or will get) THE cheapest price on the high street and a second to none customer service experience.

John Lewis and M&S give a free 5 year warranty on TVs. Richer Sounds sell a 5 year warranty for 10% of the purchase price. Argos give a free 3 year warranty with some TVs. Panasonic shops (Shop@Panasonic) often give a free 5 year warranty.
