Who is responsible for chasing up a missing ISA transfer cheque?

Options
My father opened a new ISA with Marks and Spencer in February and as part of the process, completed the relevant ISA transfer form.

First Direct confirm that the cheque was sent on the 23rd March.
As of today, M&S haven’t received it.

Who is responsible for chasing the missing cheque – hopefully not my aging father!

Any suggestions would be gratefully received.

According to the Isa guidelines, the new provider should chase it. The same thing happened to me, my isa transfer cheque was lost and I had to chase it from NW, old provider and new provider YBS.

I think it should be M&S. I've had this happen before between Abbey and Alliance & Leicester a few years ago, and the new provider had to request the old provider to reissue the cheque (lost twice, cheque reissued twice!). It's all too common for providers to deny all knowledge of receipt of details etc. I've even had them deny receipt when I sent stuff by Special Delivery and got a copy of a member of staff's signature on the Royal Mail documents.

Edit: Beaten to it by above poster!

Thanks for the two replies - we'll get on M&S' case!
