Great ‘What to Buy at Costco & Makro’ Hunt

For anyone who has purchased Costco glasses what are their prices like and do you have to have an eye test with them to purchase or can you just take a prescription given to you by another optician? Thanks.

Ive had a couple of pairs with them, we are in Scotland so our eye tests are free so we use them anyway but if you current prescription is valid I cant see why they wouldnt just do glasses to suit it.

Prices arent as cheap as they used to be but are still better than high street prices. Mine are FCUK ones and pretty sure I was less than £100 for frame and lenses!

You can take any prescription in, but given that their eye tests are free there is no harm in having your eyes retested.

Glassess quality is excellent and prices are OK. Contact lenses good too, but prices are excellent compared with High Street or Internet. I never thought I would use contacts until the optician at my local Costco convinced me that it was much easier to wear them under a motorcycle helmet than glasses.

I believe it's roughly £35 inc vat.
Been a few months since i bought some.
Hopefully someone will come along with the exact price for you soon.

The price actually varies from store to store when I have seen members post prices at their local Costco on a car forum. Last time I went Castrol was £27 +vat for 4 litres. Mobil1 was cheaper and comes in 5 litre containers. If you ring your local store they will confirm the price on the phone.

Just got back from costco....

Ford spec Castrol Magnatec 4l 5w30 is £16.99 ex vat each. No twin pack of this (its £29.99 on special offer at Halfords!)

Also picked up a Batman forever blu-ray (the one with Jim Carey in) for ..... £2.70 something!! one for my collection.

Noticed they dont scan vouchers anymore.. cashier just had 1 barcode to scan stuck to till and took all vouchers off shopping

Happy days, now just to get a oil filter for my focus!:beer:
