I thought the Qtr fall was much reduced to 2.7%, I don't follow that index anyway as you know 'Just think for a moment what a prospect that is. Civil service pay is particularly bad at anything other than a fairly senior grade (and then it has more direct private sector comparators to compete with). I don't consider myself badly paid for what I do now as a local government officer, but I'd get a fair bit less for an equivalent job in the central civil service - dunno what makes up the difference, I guess Whitehall is a bit more glamorous, and the promotion path is clearer.Hurrah, now I have more thankings than postings, cheers everyone!0

I just thought I'd be honest about it.
ETA: I have also asked for guidance on reporting. because I didn't find anything personally offensive, but I might have done if I were on the receiving end of any of the accusations being thrown about.
Oh great... I'm sure it was done with the best of intentions but do we really need people reporting threads in case someone else is upset???
I'm sure Sir H or indeed anyone else on this thread is old enough to make their own mind up without someone setting themselves up as some sort of censor and deciding how and by what we shall be offended.

I can just see it now Nick Mason as PM or Home Secretary and Sir Humphrey or beingjdc as his Under Secretary
 Yes Minister
Actually Nick do you have ambitions in that direction?'Just think for a moment what a prospect that is. FWIW I've admitted elsewhere I overreacted but I do find the sort of 'hounding' of anyone...whether I agree with them or not, or find the subject offensive or not...the actual hounding of a poster is ''not nice''. Its just I don't usually snap. It was as if the spirit of Martin or a BG took control of my fingers.:o 0 but I do find the sort of 'hounding' of anyone...whether I agree with them or not, or find the subject offensive or not...the actual hounding of a poster is ''not nice''. I doubt that. You go around this website trying to cause as much trouble as you can. I had a run in with you myself several months ago and your comments were beneath contempt. When I read this site there you are again and again trying to stir up trouble. Sad.
Wound the thread. Make your own minds up.

It is funny how a witch hunt only seems to be one side (I think if some check out some of MMP posts they may see she as not been hapy with me since a discusion her pension and she as been picking ever since.).
The comment surprised me today that all I did not like it and I have the right to question it surely?
I am going to go over the weekend and think about it. But not really happy about the way others seem to go along with interpretation to back a cause. but there you go.
Anyway I think this morning started of nicely and perhaps me and SH went at it too much.
 But Roll on the falls.;)0
