Q about radiator & cost of running
Options
Hey all
Quick q, for ya! My OH and I are trying to keep heating costs down - esp with the price rise, so in the past have only had a couple of radiators on in the house. However, I was told by someone that it wouldn't cost anymore to have others on low, as it takes the same amount of power to pump to all?
Now, is that gobbledegook, or right?
it doesn't quite make sense to me, but wanted to check with you lovely bunch as I thought you'd prob have more clue than me :rotfl:
Thanks in advance!!

Hiya
We have a board dedicated to the utilities where I'm sure you'll find lots of expert advice, so I'll move the post across there for you.

No it is not correct.
The power to pump water is not the point. The cost of running CH is largely governed by the gas or oil used to heat the water flowing through the radiators. The more radiators you have turned on, the quicker the water cools and the more energy it uses to heat the water.0
