Tiscali may be cheap but don't get fooled

Right, I've been a customer of tiscali for over 2 yrs and had nothing but trouble with them. Last year they switched my phone and also my broadband off by " error " which they addmitted was thier fault. I had to wait for over a month for my internet to get sorted out properly but my phone has been a nightmare since. I was ex-directory and also number withheld since I originally had a phone in 1995 and never changed no matter if it was BT or Tiscali. For over a year they have revealed my ex-directory number and also stopped my number with held number so anyone could get my number no matter who I called. I wasn't very impressed by this treatment. I spent a lot of good money trying to get this stopped but they ignored every email and also phone call as they still haven't sorted it out. As I live in a high crime area with drugs and so forth I need to use the phone to try and ring the police as I've already had my windows put in but that's another story lol. I told Tiscali this and they kept using the excuse that my phone line wasn't with Tiscali even though I'd received letters confirming this even in December as I'd read it out to them on one of the many phone calls I'd made.
they had a really bad attitude towards customers as they say they are dealing with the situation but in reality they are doing nothing apart from making you pay for the call your making to them to deal with the problem. I have got so sick of trying to sort it out, even though they are at fault I have gone back to BT and through Tiscali I've got to change my phone number as they have revealed it to the world. It's also made me very ill with stress and I would like this first posting to warn anyone who is thinking of going to Tiscali as a customer, please don't as you will live to regret it as I have. They already know they have broken many of the rules within the phone service but they don't care as long as they are getting your money out of you. I gave them over a year to sort this out and they still haven't done it, so please go to anyone else for phone and internet service as you will have nothing but heartbreak with them.

a lawyer just pointed out that if you are not getting the basic service you signed up for...then you have a right to cancel your contract.If you find yourself in a fair fight, then you have failed to plan properly

If anyone has problems with tiscali then feel free to email me as I have email address for all directors and their UK complaints team. All due to the fact it has taken nearly a year to close my account with them.
I will NEVER use them or anyone connected with them for as long as I live. I would rather opt for carrier pigeon that have a phone line with Tiscali0 -
I must admit I joined Tiscali last year and then read many horror stories on the internet but had no problems with service, customer service or billing....touch wood!0

i havent had any problems either, i know they restrict broadband usage for those high usage users.
im on the £14.99 evening and weekend calls / line rental / broadband package, which is only a few quid more expencive than the basic BT phone package, for my phone and broadband needs tiscali is perfect.
i only use broadband for abit of shopping and general browsing.
mabe the people who constanly have problems are those who download loads of stuff0 -

They dont have an evening and weekend call package.They charge top wack for evening calls. Calls are only inclusive at weekends on the £14.99 deal.0 -
oh yes, i got my basic BT and tiscali mixed up. might phone them and add unlimited anytime calls for a fiver.0
