02 Branded Phone
Hi
i lost my samsung d500 and have just bought a nokia 6230i (off my friend) as I didn't have insurance. I have a contract with vodafone and my sim works fine but everything is branded O2. How do i remove the branding? I can't seem to get on vodafone live either.
Any ideas?

you will need to get it reflashed with a different firmware - a voda one will have all the voda live stuff or a sim free one will be totally unbranded
ask at your local phone stall - you cant do it yourself as you need special hardware0 -
To get on Vodafone live give customer services a call and they'll sort it no problemo, just needs the new settings.2p off is still 2p off!0

That won't remove the o2 branding - i assume the OP means the startup/closedown screens, the internet option in the menu might be 'o2' etc etc. As previous poster has said yes it needs reflashing with voda software, just contact Nokia and they'll do it (possibly at a small charge but worth it)
Alternately you could get it reflashed on any dodgy market stall, it's not illegal, but upmarket mobile phone places don't do it as unless there is a known fault with the phone and it needs it, reflashing to another provider's software of course invalidates any warranty on the handset.0 -
i haven't tried this b4, but you could take your Nokia down to one of their service centres (eg. certain CPW outlets) and request for a flash of generic firmware0

i think a nokia service center would only reflash with the latest version of the branded s/w that the phone was originaly sold with unless it was bought sim free0
