IReally difficult to get the paperwork together though as I don`t want to send the passport in the post in case it gets lost and that would be problematic re hols.
    From HERE -
    For new clients
For each UK resident applicant, we only require two documents to be sent to us (one confirming identity and one confirming residential
address), as outlined in Section 2 of this application form. Please note that we no longer require these documents to be originals or
certified copies; clear photocopies will be sufficient.
When I opened mine I sent photocopies of both passports, a council tax bill which is my name and wife's DL. No problems.

And don't forget if you name a refer you & the named refer get £50 each added to your account, PM if you're short of one! :D Though I guess G_M may have got there first! ;)

I want to praise this professional bank. What good service and what a quick turnaround for my application. They sent a professional pack of information and my own personal contact at the bank. My dh has sent his application today and of course I refered him

That seems to be the concensus here - quick and efficient!
The guaranteed competitive interest rates (3.1% this week) are attractive and the referral scheme works well too.
PM me with any queries or for help.

    Hi,
Does anyone know how long it takes to get the £50 referral credited to your account after opening?

It should be just a few days. You can check online (though the online access does not allow you to operate the account - just view)

Password takes a bit longer to arrive. The referral scheme is still operating even though it was originally a 6 month promo.

Just got a letter which seems to indicate that you can now operate this account online. Will investigate and report back.
In case you hadn't already worked it out - the entire global financial system is predicated on the assumption that you're an idiot:cool:

There has been no change to the way the account works.

    "Access
    • Post
    • Telephone (enquiries only / non-transactional)"

"We require all withdrawal instructions to be in writing....."
    This means letter or fax.

Pity. But given it's not the kind of account one does many transactions on it's no real hardship.

I've found them great, they accepted photocopies for ID and have always been prompt on referals and I have 50k that I don't need to constantly worry about moving about to get the best rate, open it and forget it!
  • Just about to send off my application and would appreciate a referral via PM,

    Thanks :-)
