i know - my mortgage is with fd.
i was annoyed when they said it couldnt be done, then started talikng me into fixed rate bonds instead with my present isa balance.
i was always a big hsbc fan untill this, i thought it would be easy to transfer/change my isa into their cash e isa. but no!!!0 -

You can transfer from First Direct to HBSC and vice versa though, keeping your cash ISA under the HSBC Group either way if you wish.0 -
thanks for the advice, ive sent them a message regarding this, and stating i will transfer to another isa provider if they refuse to transfer/change my cash isa into a cash e isa.
ive got a feeling they wont do this for me though, so it looks like i will be looking for a new isa provider. im a bit annoyed that new customers can transfer in, but being an existing customer stops me transfering in.
i will keep you informed...............cheers
Looking forward to hear how they respond - I've been looking to do exactly the same thing:
