Hi,
I wonder if you can help, i have trawled the AA website but can't see any specifics.
I am thinking of joining AA, a personal membership online through quidco. General breakdown and homecover. I think it's 88 plus 40 cashback if it goes through.
I just wanted to know when cover starts.
I have been thinking about joining for the last few weeks and never got round to it. Cleaned my car today and flicked one of the switches and the battery has drained, i'm angry with myself. Anyway, i don't need car until Saturday. Do you think i could join tonight and call them out on Saturday ?
Thanks for any advice,
K

Your home insurance will normally start instantly if you ask for cover to start straight away (It would be best to confirm this with the particular company you chose), if not it will start on what ever day/time in the future you request.0 -
I may be a bit stupid but why not just charge your battery up.
Either take it to a garage, or get a jump start and give the car a good run to charge it up. Take it then to a garage to test it to see if you need to buy a new one.make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.0 -
Hi,
I've been trying to get a hold of someone to give me a jump start but i don't seem to be having any luck.
I have managed to get a battery charger but i'm not sure where to start and am a bit worried i'll do more damage rather than charge it. I'm on my own and don't have a lot of contacts.
I was planning to get breakdown cover, hadn't realised it had run out so i do intend to spend money on that in the near future. Just wondered if i could run the two into one and save paying out the extra charge when you join and already need help if you know what i mean.
Thanks,

The only 2 contacts you need are positive (+) and negative (-). Connect the red wire to positive and black to negative, plug the charger in and try starting after 30 mins or so and then run for a while.0 -
Can i do that when the battery is still in the car, i have no idea how to get it out ?
Thanks0 -
