Facts will ultimately outlive spin. John Major ran a good administration under very difficult circumstances. Like all governments, he had his share of rotten apples. Unlike some governments however, he did not keep reappointing rotten apples. When he quit, he left behind falling interest rates, falling unemployment and rising prosperity. Labour inherited what was possibly the most benign economy for 50 years. Within the space of ten short years they brought the economy to its knees. Many people in the UK now face generations of poverty and hardship to pay for the folly and hubris of Gordon and Tony.
This is what the Spectator had to say about John Major:He is a man of infinitely greater moral depth than his successor and if he had only possessed 10 per cent of Mr Blair's spin control, history might have been different. But unlike Tony Blair, John Major has nothing to fear from history.

It's funny how the only argument Labour can come up with at the moment is "it'd be worse under the Tories".Happy chappy0

Sorry, didn't realise you were a tenant. Oh well, fingers crossed for Annie that house prices will crash in Aberdeen so she can get the money together for a mortgage and a bit of 'hows yer father'. Give it five years, the house will be cheaper.
I do hope you're not hurt too.I'll have some cheese please, bob.0
