A true ridged kitchen arrives on site with all doors and drawers all ready on.[/QUOTE]
I wouldnt really agree with this statement. For me a true rigid kitchen is fitted with dowel and glue rather than a flat pack put together (for example a Howdens carcass) which will be made the same as a flat pack, cam and dowel.0 -
:rolleyes:Hi
Ive just signed up, as I need some advice regarding my kitchen. We have a quote for a flat packed gloss kitchen, t bar door handles, plynthes and soft closing hinges. Basically i`ll keep it brief to start, 9x9 kitchen 17 gloss doors and cupboards in a range of sizes (nothing fancy, all plain) (which I could add later) 4,300 ( inc 70 delivery) does this seem right? Are the gloss doors known to be expensive? and that was with a 20% discount from a kitchen surveyor not a showroom or shop. I have all my appliances (that are integrated) am buying my own worktop, sink and taps. I was hoping to spend around 2-2500k for the kitchen doors/cupboards/handles. I have heard of MFI bankrupt outlets but wouldnt have a clue how to buy a kitchen. Any help and advice would be greatly appreciated.0 -

Hi,
What's a 'Kitchen Surveyor'?
I suspect it is someone that has given you a bit of BS!
I think you need a 'Kitchen Designer' and when I say kitchen designer I mean someone that actually knows how to use a tape measure and actually considers all your requirements, then goes away to do a proper design. Not someone that drawers out something on a bit of graph paper when they come to measure and then gives you a price that suddenly discounts when you take a sharp intake of breath!
Try a local independent kitchen specialist, be honest with your budget and they should do a reasonable job for you. Ask friends and family for a recommendation and also look at Miele and Neff's websites for dealers in your area, these should be good places to start.
Good luck.0
